Things I’m Grateful For on Saturday 26 April

I’ve found these things to be grateful for or appreciate today:

  1. Getting up OK, despite the early hour.
  2. A fantastic hot shower.
  3. Allowing myself an extra 5 minutes in that shower. :dill:
  4. Trifle for breakfast.
  5. I have an easy day ahead of me. Doing News on a Saturday is really simple, because I only have to put newspapers out. The donkey work was done yesterday. :cucumber:
  6. I have my car, so I don’t have to rely on public transport to get to work.
  7. Having time to pull my wits together before work.
  8. I’m off work tomorrow.
  9. I go past a post box on my way to work, so I don’t have to go out of my way to post some DVD’s back to Lovefilm.
  10. Safe driving.
  11. Work went well. Nice and leisurely, and no problems with news, other than one that Mandy can sort out (because she caused it).
  12. I scored 3 books, 2 music CD’s, lots of seeds, some offers of free plants from magazines and some genealogy stuff for a relative.
  13. I fixed the filing cabinet, so the drawers now open without having to wrestle them.
  14. The beautiful plants and trees I see on my way to and from work - some Cherry trees that are covered with blossom, some late daffodils & a huge bed of bright red tulips.
  15. The plants that are showing signs of life in my own garden - the Hosta’s buds are breaking, the Photina is shooting again from where I cut it down, the Physocarpus is putting out some lovely yellow leaves, as is the Heuchera (which is growing with some deep purple pansies, and looks divine) and the Muscari is spreading like wildfire. Which is nice, for some early spring colour.
  16. Hot coffee, and being able to sit and enjoy it.
  17. I still have loads of fuel in the car, which will come in useful with the potential upcoming fuel crisis.
  18. Mom is going to post the DVD’s I forgot to post earlier.
  19. Nice warm weather.
  20. I eventually got the upgrade to Wordpress 2.5.1 sorted out. I tried several things, but in the end, I simply deleted everything off the server, and started afresh, with a whole new install. Then I added the necessary plugins and themes, and then I customised the dashboard to my liking.
  21. Finally working out what was causing a really irritating autosave message when editing or creating blog postings - a Greasemonkey script that worked with Wordpress which autosaved every X seconds. I’ve removed it, and now I don’t get hassled every time I make a change.
  22. Mom’s white Amaryllis is flowering again.
  23. A nice nap.
  24. Watching Chuck.
  25. Catching the slug that has been roaming about my desk. Yes, a slug, like you find in your garden. I have no idea how or why, considering that the aspidistra’s have been in here for over 6 months, but there you go.
  26. Texting Dinky.
  27. Realising that maybe it’s time to stop watching other people’s relationships, and start forging some of my own. Yikes.
  28. Today’s :broccoli: goes to the Fregair session I just had. After scoots through the archives several years of asking the question, “what do I want?”, during countless Fregair sessions, I finally have an answer. I have spent so many years convincing myself otherwise, that to get this answer now is more than a little frightening. To get it, I’m going to have to go out into the big wide world, and ask for it. Part of me wants to go back to hiding under the covers, pretending that I don’t want it, and part of me wants to go out there and get it. Of course, I have no idea as to the how, but does that really matter? I’ve coped with depression, suicidal ideation’s and mania - can anything be worse than that? Probably, yes, but do I want to allow fear to continue running my life?
  29. Finding the Wordpress Automatic Update Plugin. This plugin allows you to very quickly and easily update your Wordpress install. I’ve just updated 2 blogs in less than 30 seconds each by using this plugin.
  30. Knowing that I’m not alone out there. You readers, and especially commenter’s, really cheer me up.

Things I’ve laughed at today:

  1. .

Things I want to manifest:

  1. An easy 4 hours at work. MANIFESTED.
  2. My boss being OK with me. MANIFESTED.

Things I’ve done for others:

  1. Served a few customers.
  2. Helped Harj shift some junk.

 It was either trifle (which was already in a dish) or breakfast cereals, which would have involved going out in the cold to get the milk in, then wrestling with a packet of Weetabix to get them open. No contest, really. Especially seeing as trifle is much more tasty than Weetabix. :D

Trifle for breakfast sounds really good to me.

Today I’m grateful that the sun is shining and I was able to take a walk. I got pictures of some tiny leaves appearing on two different trees. Life is good!

trifle is far nicer than wetabix (yes, i know how to spell it, but, WET-a-bix is what it looks like in milk)

Have you seen/tried Weetabix Mini’s? They’re tiny little Weetabix, with added nuts & fruit, or chocolate. And they’re delicious. :)

It’s one of these. They’re really gorgeous, especially the double flowered ones.

I had to delete the install twice. So much for the famous 5 minute install.

These fregair sessions are sounding more and more interesting. Will you be telling us more about what you’re hoping to achieve?

Possibly. Most of the stuff that comes up is specific to me, and wouldn’t actually mean much to anyone else. Some of it is pretty general stuff, though, so I’ll probably be talking about that on my new blog, when it gets going.
