Things I’m Grateful For on Tuesday 8 April

I’ve found these things to be grateful for or appreciate today:

  1. Today, I woke up feeling grumpy and irritable. I am so very very grateful for this. It shows I have a degree of emotional openness that I haven’t had for a long time, which I really want and need. I know I can flip this onto it’s head and doing that will catapult me forwards. :broccoli:
  2. A good night’s sleep.
  3. Dreams about hawks with blue feet, in fields, with tiny little dogs. There was a train station too. And badgers that dug up seeds. I can place most of it, but not the seeds. Oh well. :D
  4. The Fregair I did last night.
  5. Hot coffee.
  6. Waking up easily.
  7. I’m not on until 1PM again, which means I have time to myself before work.
  8. Mom is going to post some letters for me, which means I don’t have to swing by the post office.
  9. My reliable car. One of the girls I work with has just been told it’s going to cost £350 to put her car through it’s MOT. I don’t think mine has ever cost over £300, usually a lot less than that.
  10. Nail clippers. One of those superfluous little things that make life that much easier.
  11. Living in a climate controlled house. I don’t need to heat it up or cool it down, which is even better.
  12. My blackout curtains. They really help keep the room cool in the baking hot summer.
  13. I’ve been paid back by another $2 on Kiva.org. I’m up to $329 now.
  14. Hot fruit tea.
  15. A nice hot shower.
  16. Hearing about a radio station that plays nothing but birdsong all day from 6AM to 12PM. How great would it be to wake up to this every morning?
  17. Dry towels.
  18. Teaspoons. Saves me from having to dig my teabag out of my tea with my fingers.
  19. Safe driving.
  20. Work went well. I had 16 TPC’s, which is good, considering I got told off this morning for only having 1 yesterday.
  21. Making arrangements to chat to my colleagues on MSN. Should be interesting.
  22. I scored some more free nuts and coke.
  23. The borrowed fleece from work. It’s cold stood on that till when folk keep leaving the door open.
  24. I get to eat when I want tonight.
  25. Playing with Wenna.
  26. Today I realised that sometimes you have to look really hard for the meaning in everything. And sometimes, even then, you just can’t see it. And maybe that’s because you’re either not ready to, or you don’t really want to.
  27. Testing out Buzzfuse. If I’ve done it right, you should see a grey box at the bottom of the posting. Please click and rate. You don’t need an account, so it only takes a few seconds, and I’ll be really grateful. :)
  28. Teaching Wenna to fetch biscuits out of my mouth. I kneel down on the floor with a biscuit in my mouth, and she jumps up on my shoulders to get it. This does tend to result in a mouth full of dog breath, though, so i might have to rethink the process. She’s picked it up very quickly, though.
  29. Hot custard.
  30. Watching Trials Of Life.
  31. I found out today that I’m off next weekend, so I’m going to use the time to catch up on some of the documentaries.

Things I’ve laughed at today:

  1. Laughing with Mandy and Vicki.
  2. Once again, The Hotfessional has made me laugh.

Things I want to manifest:

  1. A positive open attitude. MANIFESTED.
  2. A quick, simple, easy day at work.
  3. A new position at the place I want to work at, doing a job I want to do.

Things I’ve done for others:

  1. Changed some money for mom.
  2. Served lots of customers.
  3. Entertained my colleagues.
  4. Looked for some music for mom.
  5. Let a lorry out into traffic.

I’m going to have to show my ignorance again, but I have to know: what is Fregair? I even looked it up on Google and all I got were foreign languages and your blog:)

    LOL!!

“A” beat me to it… I was going to ask the very same question… so, spill the beans! What is Fregair?

    Happy thoughts to your day!

but I have to know: what is Fregair?

Fregair (the word) comes from the Irish word freagair which means “answers” or “respose”. Doing Fregair means I go into a meditative state, and ask myself a question. I might ask “what job do I want?”, and then I write down whatever response I might get.

You know when you get a hunch that someone is a bit “odd”? Or you suddenly think of the answer to a crossword puzzle? Or you get a blinding flash of inspiration? That’s what I get when I do fregair. But it’s a specific thing I ask, and a specific answer I get. It’s all just a matter of listening for the answer, and being open to hearing it.

I was going to ask the same question too. I like that idea, Solomon. I believe I will try Fregair and see what happens.
    I learned something new. Thanks.

If you’re used to meditating, or praying, or whatever, it’s a similar state to that. Nice and quiet, eyes closed, calm mind. You throw a pebble in the water, and see what ripples you get back. :)

I am grateful for teaspoons too. Especially when someone is standing next to me and I can rest the hot spoon on the back of their hand and have them jump and curse. Good times, good times.

So glad you gave the definition in the comments to that word :) Good for you for changing out of a grumpy mood. I’m terrible at doing that if I wake up irritable.

Thank you for answering the Fregair question. It appears several us have been educated by Solomon. Which is something I am grateful for today. Thanks!

 I’ve never tried that. Though, as a young child, I did once smack the tortoise in the face with a teaspoon. Karma is so going to bite me for doing that.

“Purity of silence”. I must mention that to my mother. If I can ever get a word in edgeways…

I just look at the grumpy mood as a chance to show the good side of that emotional state. Well, that and take some Holly, which always seems to help. :D
