The plants and garden center sound wonderful.
They were. The Centre is out in the country, and you have to drive down a pothole filled road to get to it. When you get there, there's all manner of animals wandering about - horses, geese, chickens, the owners dog, a goat, the biggest pig I've ever seen, etc. One year there was a duck with some ducklings curled up in one of the barns. It's like a rather open petting zoo. The plant displays were stunning too. The site is massive, and it's chock full of flowers. I could spend a fortune round there.
thank goodness! i'd be broker than i am.
I know exactly what you mean! I used to work at a garden centre, back in the day (which is where I seduced the manager, and we had a relationship that lasted for 8 years), and I used to spend pretty much all my wages on stock. The garden looked fantastic, but I just couldn't afford to eat.

one of my favourite things in the world to do is visiting a garden center in the uk... the plants, the bits and bobs, the wonderful cafes... spring, summer, fall... and the holiday items!!

here in the states, we have nothing as lovely as that.
