Things I’m Grateful For on Thursday 1 May

I’ve found these things to be grateful for or appreciate today:

  1. Getting a good night’s sleep.
  2. Weird dreams that made me realise how lucky I am - I was dreaming that my father was extremely overbearing and violent. At one point in the dream I threatened to poison him if he touched me. I’ve no idea why I was dreaming about this, seeing as how my father tends to be the complete opposite where I am concerned. :?:
  3. I love the “Preview” feature in WordPress 2.5. It’s so useful.
  4. Getting up before 9AM.
  5. Having some more ideas for posts on my new blog. I probably should at least get a theme installed first, though.
  6. I have plenty of time to myself before work.
  7. Hot coffee.
  8. Writing a post for the new blog.
  9. I have £19.25 in my ValuedOpinions account. This has shot up from £6, which is great. That £20 means more to me than the wages I get from work.
  10. Having access to clean fresh water.
  11. Reading the quote “Money doesn’t buy happiness. People with ten million dollar’s are no happier than people with nine million”, by Hobart Brown.
  12. A nice hot shower.
  13. Being able to wash and dry myself.
  14. My Amazon parcel came today. It’s a book I ordered, that I thought would be second hand (it was 90p). It’s actually still got the shrink wrapping on from the publisher! :dill:
  15. Lovefilm have sent me a DVD I really want to see.
  16. Wenna.
  17. Breakfast cereals.
  18. I only have to work 4.5 hours tonight.
  19. The working day is over.
  20. I had a fair few TPC’s, which is good.
  21. Laughing with Dinky.
  22. I’m not working the till tomorrow.
  23. Safe driving.
  24. I’ve had about 10 surveys tonight, one of which one of which netted me £5.
  25. I’ve had 2 £10 Amazon vouchers arrive, with another £10 still building. :cucumber:
  26. Withdrawing another £2 to Paypal from my Lightspeed account.
  27. A tasty bacon, mushroom and black pudding sandwich.
  28. I now have a copy of the hours I’ve worked, so I can check on whether I’ve been paid correctly.
  29. I have a nice long weekend coming up.
  30. Managing to get some Entrecard’s dropped, despite the issues with the site.
  31. A tasty smoothie - banana, mango and apple juice. Very nice.

Things I’ve laughed at today:

  1. I wrapped Wenna in the throw off the bed earlier, covering her from tail to tip, with only her nose showing, and left the room. When I came back in, she poked her head out, and wagged her tail, which was still inside the throw. I thought it looked very comical.
  2. A customer asked me if my bottle of water was vodka.

Things I want to manifest:

  1. A quick, simple, easy day at work. MANIFESTED.
  2. Lots of automatic TPC’s. MANIFESTED.

Things I’ve done for others:

  1. Served lots of customers.
  2. Didn’t rail on the ignorant ones.

I am glad that you’re happy about the new feature of wordpress. I just recently registered and found it quite confusing..I’ve heard some bloggers being annoyed of the frequent updates.. It discourages me to continue my account..

Just a visit from my entrecard

Yes. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but I do prefer this new version.

    Thank you for visiting. :)

Thanks for the great blog. I try and write in a gratitude journal on a regular basis. It’s helpful to detox from the stress!

Here’s a quick one from me:
5/1/08 - Grateful for a wonderful job with appreciative colleagues
    - Super grateful for a terrific husband who lets me be me (without grumbling or complaining); he puts up with me and my moods and that counts for a lot!
    - Grateful for being 50 and being healthy. Maybe not everything works quite like it did, but I really enjoy life now with fewer neuroses!

Take care out there in the blogosphere!

I’d happily trade some not-working-so-well bits for less neuroses. Roll on 50 years of age!

Oh, what a lovely dog! Is she a blue merle Australian Shepherd? And how did you come up with her name?

To be honest, we don’t know what sort she is. She looks similar to a greyhound in the flesh, and she certainly can run fast in short spurts, but there’s no pedigree. Her name was originally Corwen, which is a name I picked out of a Welsh name places book (she’s from Wales), but nobody knew how to pronounce it, so I shortened it to Wenna. It’s easier to say.

As I write this it’s Friday - but I’m grateful that my son doesn’t have viral meningitis, but not very happy that the spinal tap hole leaked and he wound up in the hospital - on May 1st, his birthday - needing an epidural patch to fix the hole so it won’t leak. Other than that, May 1st was great. Be well, Solomon.

Yikes! Is he OK now?
