Things I’m Grateful For on Sunday 22 June
Today’s list of things to be grateful for or appreciate:
- Getting a good night’s sleep.
- Allowing myself a lie in until 10:30. It is Sunday, after all.
- Lying in bed, feeling the sunlight on my face.
- Rather entertaining dreams. In the first, I was helping people escape from some kind of prison in the woods, where the prison was a treehouse. Lots of running and flying about. The second saw me teaching at a University.
- I’ve been paid back by another $2 on Kiva.org. I’m up to $439 now.
- I have the whole day to myself. Nat and mom are driving back from the wedding, so I don’t have to go fetch them.
- I have a few jobs to do today, so I shan’t be bored.
- After that good laugh yesterday, my skin seems much better. I have excema, which seems to be triggered by stress. Calming down and finding my Zen so to speak, really makes it clear up.
- Yesterday, despite my fears that working on the till would be hellish, turned out to be quite a good day.
- More free stationery.
- I have a couple of Ebay auctions to list today.
- Hot Teeccino. I haven’t had coffee in a couple of weeks, and I don’t really miss it.
- A nice hot shower.
- Fresh air. I’m so glad I don’t live in an area where is a large amount of air pollution.
- Breakfast cereals with cold milk.
- Beautiful sunshine.
- I might be able to get a free art set from work, possibly.
- Playing with Wenna, with the hose pipe and the one eyed purple duck toy.
- Freshly picked strawberries.
- Tasty soup.
- Getting some biscuits and chocolate.
- Watching Wild China.
- Tidying up the desk again, and sorting through some papers.
- Reading Women On Fire. How long has it been since I read this?
- Tasty Indian food. The stuff I ordered (Pasanda) tasted like sour milk, so Nat and I swapped. Her Pathia was much nicer.
- Green & Black’s Maya Gold. I think I might offer a bar of this as a prize in the July Traffic Drive.
- This lolcat.
- I don’t have to be in work in the morning.
- Chatting to Lush.
- Getting some spec letters ready for posting tomorrow.
Things I’ve laughed at today:
- Dad complaining that Wenna ate a biscuit (and left crumbs) on the carpet where he’d just hoovered. He sounded exactly like mom.
- This lolcat. And this one. This one too. Another. One moar. Last one.
- This lolbradypus.
- This lolstrix.
- This lollutra.
Things I want to manifest:
- A fulfilling day off work. MANIFESTED.
- 5 spec letters sent. MANIFESTED.
Things I’ve done for others:
- Given dad an exercise in looking after himself. He was hinting earlier, that he wanted me to tidy up before mom gets back. However, since he made the mess, I’ve decided to let him stretch his wings a little and tidy up after himself. Relying too much on other people makes one lazy, and I think it’ll do him good to accomplish something for himself.

No coffee in a couple of weeks? WOW! That is impressive.
I enjoy my morning coffee too much to give it up. I have two cups when I usually read my email and catch up on a couple of blogs during the time I have my morning coffee and breakfast. It is my 45 minute morning ritual that starts my day.

To be honest, I haven’t missed it. Teeccino is a great substitute. I just wanted a hot beverage in the morning, and I was getting worried about the amount of oxalic acid I was drinking. Kidney stones don’t sound like much fun.
June 22nd, 2008 at 6:25 pmHi Sol, I’m still checking in daily to read your lists - wow, i still love them! They always make me smile.
It’s great when we remember our dreams isn’t it, I don’t usually remember mine but i did thismorning. I dreamt i’d lost a huge chunk of my hair - when i woke up i had to check it was still there, lol. a treehouse prison sounds cool!
I understand now why you are grateful for hot showers. I live in a crappy bedsit/flat and only get barely warm water during the summer months, plus there’s only enough water to fill 1/4 of the bath. I stayed at my Mums house recently for 3 days and had 2 hot showers a day - bliss!
You say you’re glad you don’t live in an area where there’s lots of air pollution - I always imagined you living somewhere beautiful. Where abouts in the country do you live? (If you don’t wanna give this info away i understand, i was just wondering/being nosy, lol) I live in Somerset and i can’t think of anywhere i’d rather live, it’s very clean n’ peaceful here.
Hope you have a good Monday Sol, Take care. Be Happy

They’re great, aren’t they? There’s something so special about hot water. Or maybe it’s just the endorphin rush.
