Things I’m Grateful For on Saturday 19 July
Today’s list of things to be grateful for or appreciate:
- Getting a good night’s sleep. I seem to be getting a very deep sleep just recently. I’m waking up feeling very rested and ready for the day. I also seem to be having more dreams, quite vivid ones.
- Hot Teeccino. I love the Original, Vanilla and Hazelnut flavours, but I’m not so keen on the Mocha.
- Lovefilm have sent me some more DVD’s today.
- Sorted out a film Nat wants to watch.
- I’ve had another swap on ReadItSwapIt.
- Listening to Alice Peacock on random.
- Smodging on Wenna.
- I’m off work all day today and tomorrow.
- We have some raspberries, blackberries and blueberries in the fridge, so I’m going to make a smoothie later.
- A lovely hot shower.
- The time I spent making the smoothie. Blending the seeded fruit first and then straining them worked out well.
- Eating the smoothie.
- Watching Imagine Me & You. A very interesting film, which didn’t end the way I expected.
- I watched another 2 episodes of Carnivale.
- Having free time.
- Watching yet another film.
- Getting the car went very easily.
- McVities Caramels.
- Playing with my mechanic’s cat.
- The car is much quieter now. And it drives much more smoothly.
- Having some games to play while I waited for The French to get back from his party.
Things I’ve laughed at today:
- This loldog. And this one too.
- You’ve Been Framed. Youtube video.
Things I want to manifest:
- A successful journey to fetch the car.
Things I’ve done for others:
- Looked up bus times on the internet for mom.
- Fetched the milk in.

What is Smodging my good sir?
July 19th, 2008 at 8:34 pm Quote this commentHi Jessie - I can answer this coz’ i asked Sol the same question a while ago.
‘Smodging’ is a cross between romping n’ cuddling. Sol craws about on the floor with Wenna, playing about with her - blowing up her nose and tickling her etc. ‘Smodging’ is a great word don’t ya think!
Glad the Smoothie making went well Sol. My favourite smoothie flavour is Raspberry n’ Cranberry. What’s everyone elses? lets all feel grateful for Smoothies today. Tasty and full of goodness!
Wanted to ask you a question Sol - you must feel grateful for things like Water, Electricity, living in a developed country etc. ‘every day’, but you don’t include these things in your list ‘every day’. Is this because some days you are ‘truly’ grateful for these things - so you add them to your list, and then on other days you don’t think about them or aren’t overly grateful for them - so therefore don’t include them in your list? Or do you feel that you don’t ‘need’ to say you are grateful for them most days because these things just go without saying? Hope you understand this messy, badly written question, lol. I feel grateful for the ‘obvious’ things like Water and electricity every day, But do i need to put them in my list ‘every day’? Oh God i feel so silly asking this - i was just wondering. The weetabix girl has got her silly head on again, lol.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Not to sound selfish but I usually drop on 300 of those who have dropped on me. Maybe I should add you to a list of regular drops just to keep coming back. Your list of things to be grateful for is really quite appealing.
That smoothie sounds so good I may just have to go to the store and get some more raspberries, blackberries and blueberries and make one for myself.
I am also grateful for is this post being picked for the comment rush this week!

July 21st, 2008 at 2:26 am Quote this commentHi Sol:
I like to read your blog regularly. I think that gratitude, expressed regularly, is a gift we give ourselves and others. To ourselves - when we realize how much we do have, this lessens some of the feelings of envy or jealousy; we tend to compare ourselves less to others. And the more grateful we are, we have fewer expectations of others and the few we have tend to be more reasonable. I try to practice gratitude whenever I can.
I love what you write and am very grateful you have this blog.
Warmly,
~Laura

Your list clearly indicates all the things that you experience as good and that is what I believe gratitude is - seeing/experiencing the good in (all) things!
Keep up the wonderful attitude! Lucy
