Things I’m Grateful For on Sunday 20 July
Today’s list of things to be grateful for or appreciate:
- Getting sufficient sleep.
- Getting up early this morning.
- Having a nap both in bed at home, and on the hearth rug, with the dog lying next to me. I didn’t get to bed until about 2AM, so I needed to catch up on my beauty sleep, which I managed to do.
- Smodging on Wenna this morning.
- Breakfast cereals.
- Hot Teeccino.
- I’m off work all day.
- I have my car back.
I feel so much better to have it back in my possession again. - I finally upgraded to Wordpress 2.6 this morning. I did have some trouble with the Baltic Amber plugin, but it was solved by renaming the folder inside the \plugins\ folder to \baltic-amber\. Doing this made sure that the PHP errors that were being thrown up were fixed.
- The mealworms seem to have finally cottoned on to how to eat lettuce.
- The Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin. It does all of the hard work for you, and it’s much much quicker.
- Smelling the Buddleia up the garden this morning while trying to get some photographs.
- A nice hot shower. There is something very restoring about hot water.
- Doing some puzzles.
- A tasty bacon sandwich.
- I’ve been paid back by another $6 on Kiva.org. I’m up to $491 now.
- Making another smoothie. Blueberry, mango and banana, with a bit of pineapple. Mango and banana on it’s own is really nice and sweet, like a pudding.
- A tasty sandwich.
- Not eating loads of junk.
- All of the blogs are now updated to Wordpress 2.6. I love the Wordpress Automated Upgrade plugin. In just a few clicks, Wordpress is updated. No muss no fuss.
- Listening to Lani Nash.
- Which in turn inspired me to fire up Last.fm. I’ve just been listening to Dar Williams singing about the Christians and the Pagans.
- Being mentioned on the Entrecard blog.
- Watching Planet Earth on DVD. A very fascinating show.
- Listening to Alice Peacock.
Things I’ve laughed at today:
Things I want to manifest:
- A tidy desk and wardrobe. MANIFESTED.
- Some backups created. MANIFESTED.
Things I’ve done for others:
- .

I did not know about the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin. I have been doing upgrades the old fashion way. I will need to try this out.
I just love the open source community. Thanks.

July 20th, 2008 at 7:41 pmI love planet earth. I would be so grateful to own that DVD! It is the most incredible footage ever shot, IMO.
What am I thankful for? The chance opportunity my life has afforded me to life in which I have a roof over my head, food to eat, and can enjoy the simple things. I’m also grateful for my computer, and an internet connection, which allows anyone who has it to accomplish so much if they put their mind and efforts into it.

July 20th, 2008 at 10:45 pmThis is a GREAT blog.
I’ve done something similar as a journaling exercise every week in my paper journal called Thankful Thursday.
This makes me want to incorporate gratitude on my own blog.
Speaking of which, a tasty bacon sandwich would be great right about now.

I found the WP Automatic upgrade plugin about a week ago and just absolutely love it. A backup is automatically created and plugins will not be activated if they are not compatible.

July 21st, 2008 at 1:51 amThis is a lovely reminder that we all have much to be thankful for. When we stop to count our blessings, they do add up to a lot more than our troubles. I love how you focus on that here!

What a great idea for a blog! Sometimes we all forget the little things in life and take them for granted. This reminds us not to do that.
