Things I’m Grateful For on Sunday 6 July
Today’s list of things to be grateful for or appreciate:
- Getting a good night’s sleep.
- A nice hot shower.
- Getting up in time to get to my mechanic’s place.
- Today’s broccoli goes to the fact that I made it there.
My mechanic showed me the brake part, and it looks like someone’s dog has chewed it up. I’ll try to get some pictures up later. - He’s jury-rigged it so I have some brakes, but they freak me out when I use them, because they’re very spongy, and my foot goes almost to the floor, so I think I’m going to be catching the bus for the next week and a half. Still, at least I can catch a bus to work. At least there is one to catch.
- Playing with Tess (my mechanic’s dog). She’s a little Staffie cross, who loves to chase a ball. It was raining while I was there, and she was pithering about trying to find somewhere dry to hide while the rain was coming down.
- Keeping fairly dry while it was tipping it down.
- Watching a canal boat go past.
- Not using too much fuel, especially on the way back.
- It’s going to go in to be fixed properly in a weeks time, and I have the money to pay for it.
- Not having to eat a meal with the family.
- Having a nice nap this afternoon. Odd dreams.
- Seeing some Sparrows flitting about in the garden. I envy them.
- Realising that I might be heading down.
- That I have more chances to succeed in this country that I’m in than I might have in some others.
- Playing with Wenna.
- Realising that things outside of me will not make me happy or sad or excited or depressed. It’s the attachment I have to those things that makes me feel [whatever].
- All the things I’m not scared of. Yeah, I am a nellie when it comes to certain things, but most things in life don’t phase me.
- Hot fruit tea.
- Reading Women On Fire.
Things I’ve laughed at today:
Things I want to manifest:
- A new job.
Things I’ve done for others:
- .

Hey Sol - just wondering, why did you feel grateful for “not having to eat a meal with the family” today? Why are ‘family meals’ a chore for you? I don’t enjoy eating with my family either but my reasons are probably different from yours - I just wondered what your reasons are. (God i’m nosy, lol)

It’s not just family, I dislike eating in front of anyone.
July 7th, 2008 at 12:22 amI’m the same Sol. I prefer to eat on my own/ in secret than to have people seeing me stuff my face, lol. I have a so-called ‘eating disorder’. Food makes me feel fat, grubby, anxious n’ blue. obviously i’m grateful for it coz’ it keeps me and my loved ones alive, but i can’t appreciate it. I can’t wait until i can start including it in my ‘things to be grateful for’ lists, like you do! At the mo i can only feel grateful for Coffee - food makes me miserable.
Hope you have a good week.
