Things I’m Grateful For on Tuesday 29 July
Today’s list of things to be grateful for or appreciate:
- Getting a good night’s sleep.
- The alarm on my phone. I would never get up in time without it.
- Hot Teeccino.
- We have 4 full water butts again now, after last night’s rain.
- The ambient temperature is much cooler today, after the storm, which is nice. Yesterday was hot and slightly muggy.
- The air conditioning at work.
- Mom has put my snap up for work.
- Doing some codewords last night. I really quite enjoy doing them. The fact that the book was free from work makes it even better.
- A couple of books from ReadItSwapIt have arrived.
- Lovefilm have sent me another couple of disks.
- A nice shower. With the warm weather, I’ve had to dial the temperature back to between 5 and 6. It’s usually up past 7, nearly onto 8. I haven’t had a shower this cold in ages.
- Wordpress saved my bacon when publishing a post went belly up. I managed to find it again, and republish it.
- Mom is posting some parcels for me, which will save me the hassle of going to the post office.
- Safe driving.
- Work went well. I had OK-to-good customers all day, and had a laugh with a few of my regulars.
- 2 days to payday.
- Laughing with L. Again, about sex.
It seems that every conversation we have descends to that level. - H finally got around to finishing off my disciplinary, over a month after the accident. Part of me is appalled that a major retail name can do these things.
- I found an interesting looking job on the Jobseeker website this morning. I may apply for it, if I don’t get news.
- I realised earlier, that I can do whatever I set my mind to. There are people in this world who have had far fewer chances than I had, that have gone far further down the track than I did. I’ve long known this on an intellectual level, but today I realised it on an emotional level - I can do anything.
- Cottage pie for tea. Very nice.
- More hot Teeccino.
- I watched an interesting TV programme tonight about prehistoric man, and had an interesting chat with Nat about it.
- Listening to Lani Nash.
- Reading Daggerspell. it’s a book I got via ReadItSwapIt, and I’m only 41 pages in, but I’m really starting to like it already.
- Playing with and smodging on Wenna. Tonight I was eating a Magnum (yeah, because I’m going to share one of those with anyone…), and she sat right by me watching me eat it very intently. So I had to save her some, and let her lick the stick.
Things I’ve laughed at today:
- This lolcat. And this one too.
- This loldog. Kinda NSFW.
Things I want to manifest:
- A quick, simple, pleasant day at work. MANIFESTED.
Things I’ve done for others:
- Served a lot of customers in a pleasant manner.

I am going to choose to be grateful our son get a second chance at his dream of being a hockey player.

July 29th, 2008 at 8:24 pmI am grateful that the rain you predicted for my weekend away didn’t materialise (I see you got it). And now are you going to tell me what I can do with the raincoats, mackintoshes, sou’westers, umbrellas, galoshes and welly boots I stocked up with?
:)
