Things I’m Grateful For

Things I’m Grateful For on Friday 15 August

Today’s list of things to be grateful for or appreciate:

  1. Getting a good night’s sleep.
  2. I’m off work for 3 whole days now. :dill:
  3. Weird but entertaining dreams in the night. I think I must have had Spooks Code 9 on my mind, because I was in town, and a bomb went off, and I was trying to save people.
  4. Breakfast cereals.
  5. The Wordpress Automatic Upgrade Plugin. I’ve used it on two blogs now to upgrade to Wordpress 2.6.1, and it’s gone swimmingly. A few clicks, and it’s all over.
  6. Allowing myself to have a lie in this morning.
  7. I’m testing out a new anti-spam plugin, called Defensio. it has a slightly different action to Akismet, and I don’t know yet whether I’m going to keep it or not, as a test spam comment I tried was allowed to go live. Time will tell.
  8. Everything seems to be working OK with the new comment plugins I’ve installed, but I’m always nervous until someone other than myself comments. 50 Entrecard credits go to the first person to comment and let me know that it’s working.
  9. Hot coffee.
  10. Interesting questions that have helped me crystallize my thought processes a bit.
  11. Coming to a successful resolution of the comment field problem. I’ve decided to remove the WYSIWYG editor from the comment field, because it was causing problems with too many other plugins.
  12. A nice hot shower.
  13. Watching some Sparrows up the garden. There was a baby one being fed by it’s parents.
  14. Some tasty bacon sandwiches.
  15. Having the leisure time to look for solutions to problems.
  16. A Del Monte raspberry smoothie. They’re really nice, and are very strongly flavoured of raspberry.
  17. Hot Earl Grey tea.
  18. Realising that I’m looking for a distraction, and avoiding it.
  19. I had a mini freak-out earlier when I spotted a dead mealworm on the carpet. The thought uppermost in my mind was that if one had escaped, how many others have done the same? Thankfully, it turned out to be a black sunflower seed.
  20. Some tasty organic rhubarb from the garden. Crunchy and juicy, with hardly any acidity at all. Very nice.
  21. I’ve tidied off and cleaned my desk.
  22. Clean sheets on the bed tonight.
  23. Listening to Last.fm.
  24. Hot Vanilla Teeccino.
  25. Finding Melissa Ferrick singing Everything I Need.
  26. I’ve called my mechanic, and I’m going over tomorrow to get my wheel replaced.
  27. The mealworm larvae are actually feeding now. Hopefully, they’ll soon be old enough to be fed to the birds.
  28. Cheese on toast.
  29. Watching some Eureka.
  30. Chatting to The French. Something I ordered has arrived, and now I’ve ordered something else, too. So I’m going to pick both items up together.
  31. Finding the other half of a Grippit that I’d lost, and the case screw from my PC. Both of which had managed to get underneath the mattress. :cucumber:
  32. Having a shave. Every time I use my hair trimmer I get better at it. Tonight, I’ve finally trimmed off all the bits I left behind last time.
  33. I’ve got everything ready for the post tomorrow.
  34. Walking up the garden in the sunshine, to smell and look at the flowers.
  35. Finding some First Class stamps. They will come in very useful.
  36. I’ve found a lot to be grateful for today.
  37. All my needs have been met.
  38. The Mimulus is definitely working.
  39. I have more than enough money to pay the the part I need to get tomorrow.

Things I’ve laughed at today:

  1. This loldog.
  2. This lolcat. And this one.
  3. This, from Not Always Right.
  4. Mom: “What’s that clock there doing?” Me: “It’s telling you the time.”

Things I want to manifest:

  1. Getting the blog sorted. MANIFESTED.

Things I’ve done for others:

  1. Made mom a cup of tea.

Thank you for the new plug-ins, i usually upgrade manually my blogs and I’m afraid to use this auto-upgrade plug-in. This is very convenient.

It is. It’s much better than doing it manually, and I’ve had no problems with it. Well, I had one, but I hadn’t installed the plugin correctly, so it was my own fault.

Very nice site. I remind myself throughout the day what I am grateful for. I like that you write down what you are grateful for. I find it enlightening and a sense of peace to know that not everything in the world is bad, that there are good things, things to be happy about. Like this site. I shall be visiting more often.

This is the reason I blog. Simply because it makes me feel good. :)

Hey, we all had to start somewhere. I can still remember the days when i had no idea what the difference between save and save as was. I still have trouble reading programming languages like PHP and such. It’s all just a matter of practice, I guess. :)
