Things I’m Grateful For on Sunday 7 September
Today’s list of things to be grateful for or appreciate:
- Getting a good night’s sleep.
- More weird dreams. This time, I was saving the queen from huge amounts of rioting that was going on in London.
- The cut on my finger is healing up.
- I’m off work all day.
- Allowing myself a lie in. Partially for the fun of it, but also because I didn’t want mom demanding that we go shopping as soon as I set foot in the kitchen.
- I’ve finally figured out what has caused Gmail on my phone to sign out. It’s when I use my phone to access Google. Now I know, I can avoid the hassle of signing in and out so much.
- Hot Teeccino.
- Since I haven’t fed the mealworms for a day or two, I’m getting way more larvae on the surface. This is going to prove quite useful when trying to catch some. I’m seeing a lot more frass since I moved to the wheat bran substrate. I’m not sure if that’s related to anything or not.
- I have the whole day to myself.
- While making my Teeccino this morning, I spotted a moth sheltering under a leaf from the rain.
- They say that motivation follows action. Just now, I wrote that I wanted to get everything off my job list done, and I felt a thrill of excitement at the thought of getting it all done. That’s the spark I need to get stuff done.
- Getting the first job off the job list done - the daily rating thing is all sorted out.
- Breakfast cereals.
- Job 2 is done. The desk is now fully cleared off.
- Job 3 is done. The clothes pile is completely gone.
- Job 3A is done. The wardrobe has been tidied up, and a lot of junk has been put for the charity shop.
- Job 4 is done. I’ve fiddled with the template a bit more, and made a few changes. I love my very basic knowledge of PHP.
- Realising that perhaps putting a sponge in with the mealworms wasn’t such a good idea. They’re eating it.
- Job 5 is done. I’ve backup up all the phone numbers stored in my phone. I haven’t done this for absolutely ages, and I figured it was about time I did it.
- Job’s 6 and 7 are done. I’ve backed up my Wordpress install and my theme. I haven’t done these for a few months, which is shockingly bad. I trust my host to keep things going, but it never hurts to have a backup.
- I’ve fed the mealworms.
- Job 8 is done. All the plugins on my various blogs have been updated.
- Finding another interesting film I’d like to see.
- A nice hot shower.
- Watching a film.
- Job 9 is done, I’m just awaiting the results.
- Being able to read, and being intelligent enough to understand that which I’m reading. Simply being a human being gives me potentials that no other species has.
- The results are in, and it works perfectly. A very simple, very elegant solution. And I’m very grateful to someone else providing me with it.
- All the loans currently on Kiva.org are funded, and they have been for a few days now. On one hand, I think it’s fantastic that everyone is getting the money they need. On the other, I’m a little frustrated because I want to play too.
- My air purifier. It’s blasting out some Cypress essential oil right now, which is making me feel nice and chilled.
- I have a candle burning in a green glass lump right now, and it looks really nice. Apologies for the quality of the image. It was taken by my phone. The light coming through the glass is a lovely shade of butter yellow.
- H is off work all next week, so I think I might ask Dinky to find out if I’ve been paid correctly.
- Chatting to Lush on the phone. We’re closer to meeting up again.
- I’ve trimmed up one of the Streptocarpuses, and removed all the old dead flowers and leaves.
- Being able to give something back.
- The glass candle holder is rather warm now, so I’m going to stick my feet on it later when the candle has gone out to warm them up.
- I’ve ironed my shirts ready for morning.
- A tasty Pink Lady apple.
Things I’ve laughed at today:
- This loldog. And this one.
- This from Not Always Right.
- My mealworms. No matter what time I look in the culture, there is always at least one adult lying on it’s back, frantically flicking the substrate around.
- Laughing with Lush.
- This lolcat.
Things I want to manifest:
- Everything off the job list done. MANIFESTED. I still have to work on the story, but it’s not really a priority like the other stuff was.
Things I’ve done for others:
- Put the shopping away.
Daily rating:
3.

I have nothing to accomplish today and I am manifesting nothing but enjoyment from this.
September 7th, 2008 at 7:31 pmHi Sol - you’ve been busy today, well done for getting all your jobs done.
I’ve been reading today - books and websites. I like to read about atleast one new thing every day to keep the old mind working, lol. Today’s online reading subject was… Mealworms!! lol. They pop up in your lists quite alot but i didn’t know anything about them, so i thought i’d look them up. I read that mealworms can be dried n’ crushed - then added to recipes for humans consumption, Have you ever eaten mealworms? Just wondering.
I’m feeling grateful for my life today - just spent 30 mins listening to the woman next door being shouted at/hit by her boyfriend. So lucky i don’t have to go through that, poor thing. I feel grateful i can live in peace tonight.
Hope you have a good week Sol - Stay Beautiful

That sounds like fun. Unfortunately, I have too much free time on my hands, usually, so sitting about loses it’s charm. That’s why I create a job list. It gives me something to aim for.

Yikes! Makes you wonder why people tolerate such things happening to them, doesn’t it? And no, I have never eaten mealworms. Never even been tempted. “I know an old woman, who swallowed a fly…”

I had no idea they were doing it until I saw one poke it’s head out of the top of the sponge today.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:47 pmThere was a large black scorpion hiding under our dvd shelf in my dream last night. And fuzzy art made my thought waves and only I could see it.
Congradulations on the clean desk.

Thank you. It’s now messy again. But at least that gives me something else to do, later.
Your dream sounds weird. I’d have been freaking out at the sight of a scorpion.
