Plugins I use on this blog
This is a list of all the comments I use on this blog.
- AJAX Edit Comments. This allows your users to quickly and easily edit comments they have made.
- Akismet. This plugin checks all incoming comments to see if they’re spam, and if they are, it prevents them from being displayed.
- Commentluv. When you post a comment, this plugin will fetch the latest post from your blog, and insert a link to it at the end of your comment.
- Comment Quicktags. This adds the little buttons above the comment box that allow you to quickly add bold text, italicised text, etc.
- Default Post Content. Allows you to have a default post. I use it to save myself from having to enter lots of HTML every time I post (I always use the same headings).
- DoFollow. This removes the “rel=nofollow” attribute from links. When you leave a comment on my blog, Google will now follow the link back to your site. If you’re a blogger, you need to know about this.
- External Links. This plugin optionally makes all external links open in a new window, adds a little icon next to all external links and add rel=nofollow to any external link.
- Favicon head. This makes having a favicon on the blog really easy. A favicon is the little icon you see in your browser window, next to the name of the site.
- Feedburner Feedsmith. This plugin will redirect all the feed traffic on your site to your Feedburner feed.
- Future is Now. This allows posts that are set as a future date to be posted now, as opposed to waiting in the queue to be posted later. It’s useful if you want to have a post set at the top of your blog & RSS feed.
- KeywordLuv. This allows your users to show their name as [person] from [site], instead of [person], in the comment Name field.
- Quoter. This allows commenter’s to quote another comment. To use it, click the “Quote” link on the comment you want to quote, and then add your reply.
- Recent Comments. This lists the most recently commented on posts, and who made the comment.
- Statcounter. This plugin allows you to quickly and easily add the necessary Statcounter code to your blog.
- Subscribe To Comments. This allows a commenter to receive email updates on other comments added to the posting after their own.
- Top Commenters & Show Top Commentators. This shows the people who have left the most comments on the blog in a list, organised by the number of comments.
- Wordpress Database Backup. Back up your entire blog database in just a few clicks. Invaluable.
